Jason Maguire Rides at Cheltenham after Whip Ban

Having his recent ban reduced by a day Jason Maguire the stable jockey is now free to ride 'Peddlers Cross' on the first day of Cheltenham 2011. After being banned for 7 days for excessive use of the whip at Doncaster riding 'Cool Mission' Jason Maguire challenged the length of the ban at the B.H.A. to allow his ride at Cheltenham.

'Cool Mission' was found to have received minor marks from the whip, which led the Doncaster stewards to impose the 7 day ban at Doncaster.

Under the appeal the ban was reduced to 6 days, allowing Jason Maguire to ride in the Stan James Champion Hurdle on the First Day at Cheltenham March 2011. He will now ride 'Peddlers Cross' an unchallenged hurdle winner in the race on the First Day at Cheltenham, currently priced at 6-1.
